COMMUNITY SERVICE (2022-2023 Director: Tony Siragusa)
Community Service is Rotary’s third avenue of service and focuses on the projects and activities the club undertakes to improve life in its community by encouraging the application of the ideal of Rotary service. It is the commitment and social responsibility of every Rotarian and Rotary club to improve the quality of life for those who live in the community and to serve the public interest.

A sampling of the projects and activities that the Anaheim Hills Rotary Club has undertaken include the following:
Promoting Peace: Adopt a social worker; purchasing the crown and sash for Miss Anaheim Hills and her court
Fighting Disease: Race for a Cure sponsor; blood drives; raising in excess of $9,000.00 for an AIDS project for a Rotary Club in Edenvale, South Africa; on-going support for The Rotary Foundation and Polio Plus (on target to eradicate polio from the face of the earth!); yearly trips to Caborca, Mexico to administer the polio vaccine
Providing Clean Water, Sanitation & Hygiene: raising enough money to build wells in South Sudan
Saving Mothers and Children: diaper drives; toy drives; Joanne's Purse Project (purses and hygiene supplies for women in transition); holiday and back-to-school shopping for families in need; new box springs/mattresses to youth in need; support for Canyon Acres Family Services; Eli home, providing monthly dinners and holiday parties for families with children at CHOC who are staying at Ronald McDonald house
Providing Education: STEP (Supporting Teachers and Educational Programs)--money for local K-12 schools and local community learning centers including the Blind Children's Learning Center; featured readers at Read-Across-America events; supporting transportation costs for Destination Imagination; sponsor for Concerts in the Canyon; underwriter for "Every 15 Minutes" Safe Driving Program; support for 1888's Literary and Cultural Heritage Center; support for the Deacon Jones Foundation; quarterly book donations to THINK Together; weekly book donations to local elementary libraries
Growing Local Economies: support for Cash Mob to recognize and patron new or emerging business; running a successful business networking meeting for the community
And more: Corazon – building a House-In-A-Day for a poor family in Mexico; feeding the hungry/Thanksgiving dinner; serving thousands of pancakes at AH’s Fourth of July celebrations & contributing proceeds to the Canyon Hills Community Council; hands-on support for Heritage Day with the Canyon Hills Women’s Club; construction of walls of children’s hand painted tiles at a number of elementary schools in the community; AND to schools in the Philippines; with ; holding several successful fund raisers (Golf Tournaments, Poker Tournaments, Music Festivals, Oktoberfest, Easter Festival); Canyon Pride Day at Canyon High School; ; erecting a beautiful “Centennial Year Celebration” clock at the Anaheim Convention Center; providing a community meal for the families and players of TOPSoccer, a special needs soccer league; enjoying the company of numerous Rotarians and members of our community at hockey games, baseball games, dinner theater, karaoke, picnics, concerts, Mystery Nights, and other fun events!
We are a small, but exceptionally busy and accomplished club!
